Thursdays in Strasbourg are a waste of time. We have a quick group meeting in the morning and then we wait for the votes at noon. I guess the only good thing is that I get a chance to go to the gym.

Oh, how I wish we would stop the absurdity of going to Strasbourg for plenary meetings. It is such a waste of time, money and credibility.

Today we voted for the Duff-Voggenhuber report on the future of the EU Constitution. The report was approved by a clear majority. I think we are all glad that the report is now over and done with. Time to look ahead.

There is nothing better than coming home. The hugs and kisses were plenty. And for a good reason.

I had not seen Suzanne (my wife) and Oliver (my 2 year old son) for a week. I left Emilie (my 4 year old daughter) in Brussels on Monday.

I reintroduced myself to Suzanne: ”Hi, I’m your husband”.

Voting on the Duff-Voggenhuber report.
