With the greatest of respect Alex, you have no future as a politician. There's far too much common sense, self-deprecation, and plain speech going on in your articles and blog for you to be successful. This was quite good if somewhat more upbeat than a cynic can handle.
Love the blog. Keep up the good work, it may rub off on some of your colleagues. By the way, if it really isn't workinbg out, you should have someone take a look at your swing before you quit this gig and go on tour - looks like a nasty hook to me ;-)

Interesting that think that Alex has no future in politics...As Mr. Stubb was just named Finland's Foreign Minister!!!
So it looks that Alex's peers in Finnish politics think highly of his competence and future as a politician.
Keep up the good work Alex and congratulations on your promotion to Foreign Minister!

I broadly agree with the content of the article, but best of all I'm very happy that you're writing things like this. I somehow doubt any British MEP would be adequately determined to get an article in the BA in flight magazine!
